Inability for Lamp to strike

Hi Everyone,

Please can anyone explain to me what could be the problem why my Lamp won't strike . we have 2 projector(s) on site DP2K-10S, and there's this one projector that the lamp won't strike , this do happen many times and l dont know what could be the cause but l do improvise by shutting down the projector for some minutes like half hour before turning it On again for operation ,this might be lucky to strike and most time it might not strike that l will have to repeat the process over again and wait . can l know why this happening.

First, check the hours on the lamp(s). If they are far past the warranteed hours, then replace them. As lamps accumulate hours the gap between electrodes widens and the tips often change shape. As a result, very high hour lamps can be difficult to strike, and digital projectors do not generally do repeated lamp strikes like most film type lamp houses did. However, if they are right at warranty, then it may be another problem, because they certainly should still strike.
