  • Blogs and Webinars during the COVID-19 Times

I wonder how many of you are taking advantage of the prolific blogs and webinars many companies are offering during the down time due to COVID-19? There is quite a bit of good information out there and some stuff that you used to have to fly to the manufacturer to obtain that now can be had in webinar form.

For instance, if you like or are considering Rational Acoustic's SMAART analyzer, they have probably on the order of 15-hours worth of webinars on software. https://www.rationalacoustics.com/su...ining-Webinars

QSC has had blogs and videos but they have been churning out at a greater pace as of late and they are quite good. https://blogs.qsc.com/cinema/?_ga=2....525.1568766256. You do have to request to see the webinars but they can also be quite informative and some of QSC's new products/speakers are covered.

The Q-SYS division of QSC has also been quite prolific in their webinars on all sorts of things from scripting to UCIs to gain structure so those are also videos worth checking out. Some need to be accessed via request and I'm seeing that some are available on QSC's YouTube site directly.

Dolby and GDC both have been busy on the the Webinar/Video plan too. So again, there are some good resources out there, particularly about new products or ones that you may have not used yet.

There is good stuff out there for all sort of things and I've found that I prefer to watch the webinars NOT in real time as I can get through them faster and get the information or rewind and make sure I get the information that I may have missed on the first pass.

    Hello Steve,
There are a lot of lessons and certifications from Harmon, JBL . Their sound lessons are mostly for line arrays and CBT speakers. The one on "Headroom" is particularly good information.

No doubt! I didn't mean to exclude ANYBODY/Manufacturer. Just wanted to point out that many/most manufacturers are putting all of this great information out there and people should probably give it a look/listen to improve their knowledge or perhaps find out about something that could help their needs but they otherwise wouldn't have discovered.

Great! How about putting a list with links and descriptions here?

I did on what I listed. Some of these do require registering with the manufacturer (e.g. QSC's Webinars).

Here are Dolby's Training Videos: https://vimeo.com/dolbycinemasupport.../format:detail

I'm not sure about accessing GDC's as I have not attended them yet (bad timing on my availability) but I know they have been doing some on things like their SR1000 server and other exciting new stuff like their streaming TMS and automation devices.

We did a Trinnov Ovation 2 webinar last week, and can do online one on one engineer training on demand.

Barry from QSC did some really informative webinar and blog posts.

I think the industry really benefits from people with time on their hands, aside from the obvious downsides.

Mike, did you all record your webinar? If so, have you posted it or have a link where others can take a peek?

All Trinnov webinars are here, I attend most of the ones for our other products and there is some interesting information in those too.

Christie offered a generic webinar on laser projection, but it was not cinema oriented. Cinionic offered some sessions about series 2 laser upgrade and series 4 projector install, calibration and troubleshooting. However I can't find public links for recordings of these.
