I noticed Deadpool & Wolverine movie will be presented in different aspect ratios depending on the version and format. The 2D IMAX version will utilize a 2.39:1 aspect ratio, while the 3D version will feature a 1.90:1 aspect ratio. These distinct ratios are specifically chosen to enhance the viewing experience, with the 1.90:1 aspect ratio in 3D allowing for frame breakout effects, providing a more immersive experience.

IMAX and masking...
I bet my collection of Ute Boll movies on it: IMAX has never built a single screen with adjustable masking.
I'm wondering if the non-IMAX 3D releases still use a dynamic floating window? Anybody seen a "vanilla" Disney 3D release lately?

still projects presentations in an assortment of aspects. (although I haven't been
down down there in some years) - but I think Marcel is likely correct that IMAX hasn't
BUILT a venue with movable maskings. I can't ever recall seeing one.

But, heck... I actually somehow own two of his movies... Don't ask me why, please. I think one is actually a Blu-Ray and the other one a DVD... So. PM me some address that can receive them, like your home or office address or alternatively, some disposal facility for toxic waste... And you're going to have a lot of fun in your home cinema in glorious SD... or maybe 1080p, I don't know, but maybe you'll find out in about 10 weeks of so, when the customs decided to let the dogs sniff on some of Uwe Boll's finest produce...Last edited by Marcel Birgelen; 08-27-2024, 05:26 PM.

The best of the Film-Tech winner of "stuff" for a contest has to still be the Princess II theatre.

It is 8 pages of hilarity from a bygone era. If you are the kind that likes to jump to the ending (payoff)...that is on page 6.

Took some time to read that thread... OMG.
It somewhat reminded me of my first attempts at a "home cinema", pointing a large CRT projector connected to my illegally imported laserdisc player with jerry-rigged 220V to 110V transformer at a mostly straight wall, painted white...
But hey, those Uwe Boll masterpieces don't ship themselves. Do you want them or shall I donate them to a local landfill?
