  • Barco ICMP ftp access issue

Hello all! In my theater it has started replacement champaign of projectors, due to this we are transitioning from old doremi servers to barco icmp integrated solutions. And here it started the problem. While on doremi was very easily access storage to extract contents when needed -either by ftp or directly on usb key - here we cannot access ftp in anyway. From the laptop used to monitor the projector, using file explorer and inserting ftp://ip number, the login fails. We used credentials as from web communicator manual, but system deniss access. Now, could it be related to win 11 not supporting anymore ftp? Could it be to the wrong port (manual says not to mention after ip number, but also says it is not 21)? Could it be installer changed them without reporting it? I am becaming crazy ☹️.

    thanks!

The login credentials for FTP access are not the same as for the web UI.

Barco has a document listing the ports and login credentials for FTP access. Per Forum rules and Barco's requirements, I'm sorry, but I can't post them on a public website. My suggestion would be to contact the authorized Barco dealer or integrator from whom you bought the ICMP, and ask them for that document.

And yes, windows removed ftp support from explorer as mentioned on recent versions, You’ll have to use a dedicated ftp client like FileZilla.

Hello, thanks for both answers. We have the credentials, different from web gui access. They are anyway reported in the manual for communicator installer gave us (DCP publishing chapter). But even with those, using win 11 file explorer - even if it correctly connect asking for login - denies access saying those credentials are not correct. During week i will try using filezilla…as suggested maybe explorer is not more good for this operation ☹️. Thanks!

The ICMP incoming FTP/server credentials and explanation are given in the Barco COMMANDER manual - hardly anyone reads this, as it targets the ICMP Commander application, which probably not many people use. The user interface is more or less identical to the Web Commander, but the manual gives much more info about the ICMP in general. Including RAID/disk types and FTP.

          Filezilla is the better client.

With credentials from manual it works from me both with filezilla or windows built in ftp client too without problem.
But true, filezzila is better option to use.

Good morming all! At last we solved, must say it was very trivial reason: wrong port. With Filezilla and using port 43750 instead of 21 (which is the standard for ftp), connection was ok. For both modes, standard and publishing. Thanks everybody for the help, now i learned new thing.

Besides that, if you did not know, chose binary in transfer type, default is ascii.
