  • USL CMS-2200 marriage problem

    Helo.
We have two USL CMS-2200 servers, that we can't made the marriage. This happen at the same time. I remember that this was happened time ago, and is not a certificate/battery problem, and is possible to solve with the remote connection of an USL technician. Has anyone the contact of a technician from USL? This product is discontinued by QSC, and no serviceable by they.

While it was still supported by USL, the contacts were Seth Jesse and Tom Atkison (it may be Atkinson, but my notes have it without the n). I don't have current contact details for either - sorry. Might be worth checking if either of them are at QSC, I guess.

Tom is no longer with QSC and is selling Powersoft amplifiers.

Seth is still with QSC but no longer has a "customer facing" position and seems to be involved in plugin development for Q-SYS. I guarantee you that Seth's hands are on some of the cinema-specific Q-SYS' plugins.

We have a CMS2200 and we got a cert issue that was solved with a QSC support ticket and a package they sent us a couple of years ago. Have you raised a ticket?

What projector you have? I remember one CMS2200 in Christie series 2, somehow in media block tab, dolby must be chosen in order for projector to recognize CMS and to get marriage done. Somehow, it did happened that that setting did revert to something else, and even everything was ok, marriage couldn't be made.

We have a Barco DP2K-10s, and works well with another server.

When CMS2200 is inserted and when you do marriage, what error message barco gave you after marriage if failed?
Is it board insertion tamper or something else?

                  The projector error is:
5854 imb - physical marriage tamper event.

I can download the IMB certificate and is identical as the certificat I was downloaded when the server was working well.
QSC has referred me to a local distributor and closed the ticket. The local distributor is dedicated to sound and knows absolutely nothing about what a digital cinema server is.
Two servers in two different projectors failed at the same time. Too much coincidence.
This same thing already happened to us a while ago, and a USL technician solved it in 5 minutes, connecting remotely to the server, but this time, they don't want to do anything at all.

Can you pass me that package?

That sound to me like card cafe where ims is is not clsoed. Since barco doesn't have mehanicar switch on card cage, but rather temper "switch" is contact somewhere on ims pins when connected on backplane. I cannot recall any setting on cms that would lead to that issue, or either it could be some cms software temper that is triggered. Do you maybe recall that service remote from qsc, is it was something in GUI of cms or terminal (typing commands)?

I remember the issue very well when installing CMS2200 in christie. If you did not chose "dolby" in christie menu, issue was just like that. But, barco on other hand just doesn't care for ims inside, it works or not.

Last time, they connected to the server's linux console via putty. It doesn't seem like a projector problem. One is running a Dolby ShowVault and the other is running an Enigma board.
