    Hey,

Just received a couple of broken DTS disks for Oppenheimer 70mm. Got then filemailed nine DTS reels of same title with no dts.exe file. Burned new iso image if the nine files and a dts.exe, but will not load in XD10.

First, wonder if this is an incomplete soundtrack. Nine reels seems few for such a long film. Second, does anyone have the complete iso and would be kind enough to share?

Assuming the files are valid, they have to be burned in a specific manner to be compatible. I'll connect with you offsite to get you going.

Also worth mentioning the "last" version of XD10 software (v.2.2.06) allowed loading via USB on the front panel. After I updated mine life got much easier. I pulled the old HDD and kept it as backup, installed to a new empty SSD once I got the dvd-rom drives working again did a clean install of the latest version. Haven't burned a disc since then.

Main caveat would be if you have any DTS specific licenses installed, they will not be present in a fresh install, just soundtrack handling capability.

In addition to USB loading mentioned by Ryan, the DTS.EXE file is not required for the XD-10, it will load without it being present.

Thanks all, got ISOs from Brad, burned them to CD and loaded fine.

One of our XD10s are running on v2.2.06, but still won't accept USB. Have to look into that.

Didn't know about the exe being redundant, good to know!

There wasn't a way to export that license? I thought it was just linked to the MAC address of the motherboard.
In any case, until some time ago Datasat could still provide those licenses upon request, they needed the serial no and the mac address

I am sure there is, I had none to export, I just know you need the working old system so it is a caveat in that you should not forget that step before installing to the new drive.

It is a function in the menus, doesn’t load automatically on insert. I also think it expects FAT32 formatted drives iirc.

If no license is backed up and loaded after a fresh install, every XD10 is soundtrack enabled only (except some video-only XDs with a special E494 card). Can be backed up via USB or manually from the HDD on partition \rwm. The file is "dtslicense.dat". If the file is empty, it is a soundtrack-only XD and no license file is required (or the original license was already lost on a previous installation).

Oh, I see about USB loading, Ryan. Will check that. Thanks.
