  • All I want for Christmas.....

....are her two headlights. (or in my case, his two jingle bells, lol.)

As I sit here with swollen glands and a fever, I needed some cheering up. After all that has happened in the latter part of this year, losing a good friend (a local mx track operator) and two colleagues (Sam and John) and now this, I needed some reason to smile.

What better way to laugh than watch Peanut and Jeff Dunham doing a classic from the Holiday Special from around 2008:

And of course we can't forget Walter:

My brother caught a xmas bug too, we'll see if he makes it to the family's place today. Feel better soon!

Here is a story about this year's famous tree to spread a little cheer:

Guhhh... Now i've got the xmas sickness. My brother did make it to a late dinner yesterday, but my cold symptoms came on around the same time... too fast to be from him. I'm gonna blame doing the load out of Nutcracker or my brunch out with other family the same afternoon on the 23rd.

At least I'm off work, but sucks giving up your big blocks of days off to viral recovery. Negative covid at least.

The seasonal 'flu is really bad this year. The hospital at which my wife and brother-in-law work is at 95% capacity for in patients, and has a significantly higher proportion than in an average year of patients that need ICU treatment or other interventions that go beyond monitoring and treatment of symptoms. It hasn't been this bad since the winter of 2020-21 (tail end of covid), apparently.

My wife told me that what she wanted for Christmas was for me to refrain from "filling the house with plastic things that are made in China and require AA batteries."

It uses AAAs (the red dot cat toy, not Donald!), so I'm just about OK...

Yeah hearing both flu, cold, as well as recent confirmed covid too from co-workers extended families.

I'll take the cold and call it a win. One co-worker was hospitalized last month for high fever, but tested negative for covid/flu. Probably a secondary infection I do live in one of the allergy capitols of the world.
