Variety: Cinerama Dome Returning With New Name, Plans for Two Bars and Restaurant

This would kind of fit into the theater opening/closing thread except no dates have been announced as of yet, but feel free to move it if you like.

On June 3, the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control granted a liquor license, allowing Decurion to operate a restaurant and two bars on the premises. According to the license application, obtained by Variety, the complex will henceforth be known as “Cinerama Hollywood.”

Someone needs to re open the long closed Pacific Warner Cinerama Theatre on Hollywood Blvd just a few blocks away from the new Cinerama Hollywood Theatres. For the tourist city Hollywood is lacking movie theatres.

The old Pacific Warner Cinerama can be used for many type of events not just movies but It sits empty year after year.

Let's hope the Pacific guys can get a new tech person inside the dome to correct the problems with the huge curved screen with a proper lens to correct the bottom curve up corners. The masking now put in bottom curves up so much it looks so bad.

Many new large curve screens put in don't have the problem that the Cinerama Hollywood has had the last few years.
