It won't go all digital until the Studios figure out a way to have a key for the posters

        Then it will never happen..

The problem is its too easy to build these solutions yourself.
I have seen quite a few cinemas build their own custom digital poster solutions.
It would just be better if the industry adopted a standards based approach. If they don't contribute, it will just stay cowboy-land in terms of digital poster solutions that we have now.

Yep! Gotta have keys for the poster display.... If you don't then there is nothing to go wrong and make your day frustrating....Of course... you could also lose the keys to the old type display cabinets too...

James Gardiner, Actually most Broadcast Stations, both Tee Vee and Radio are still using microwave links to get from the studio to transmitter site. And using equalized phone lines is still not uncommon in radio. One of the Stations I worked at had a double microwave link installed by yours truly just to get video and audio to the transmitter.. Signals were sent from the main station, 15th floor roof to the 44th floor corner of the Civic Opera House across the street. across the street, then from there to the 94th floor of the Hancock building. Or around a corner literally. The studio was down in a hole .made up of other taller skyscrapers. And this was a dual system for backup purposes and the dishes had automatic heaters to keep snow from building up. Occasionally, TV also s goes by special phone lines., we had one just in case both microwave links failed... ...
