  • USL ECI-60 or Dolby DMA8Plus

Has anyone used either of the USL ECI-60 or Dolby DMA8Plus with a Dolby CP500?

    Sure...both. What's the question?

I would ALWAYS take the DMA 8 Plus, if that is the question. The ECI-60 is a hack job, at best. It has very poor control support. The DMA8 Plus has the advantage that the DMA 8 came before it and they got to learn/hear from the issues surrounding that one.

That would explain why the used ECI-60 is so cheap!

The DMA8plus has 2 digital AES inputs whereas the DMA8 has 1 digital coax and 1 digital AES. With a bnc adaptor will the Plus take the coax input or is it totally different signal?

I downloaded the manual... I think I answered my own question on the inputs.

BNC to RCA? Sure, you can use a BNC to RCA if you want to connect up some consumer grade AES3 audio (typically from an orange colored connector).
